Job Description



To supervise safe and efficient execution of preventive & corrective maintenance, inspections, and repair works for all Electrical and Instrument Systems and equipment at critical Fuel Storage & Distribution Depots/Terminals and LPG Plant in Al Ain region whilst ensuring optimum utilisation of manpower and material resources.


Job Specific Accountabilities

Electrical Maintenance Supervision

 Supervises the service, repair and maintenance activities of all Electrical Systems and Equipment including maintenance of low and medium Voltage Equipment, Switchgear, Control Panels, Instrumentation & Control Systems, Cathodic Protection system in the Plant, Equipment and Buildings at the multi product depot and Military Depot in Al Ain region.

 Reviews and allocates all daily work orders received from Depot/LPG Plant, for any maintenance works required. Coordinates with Maintenance Planning for scheduling and implementation of required repair and maintenance works.

 Coordinates with end users for all repairs, replacement, modification, calibration, overhaul etc. carried out by tradesmen to ensure smooth progress of all scheduled repair and preventive maintenance works.

 Ensures carrying out regular routine and scheduled inspection and maintenance of all electrical equipment and provides feedback and written reports on operational status in accordance to schedules, checklists and specific equipment requirements.

 Ensures that all breakdowns in his area of responsibility are attended to promptly and equipment is returned to service as soon as possible.

 Provides on the job supervision to technicians for all repairs, replacement, modification etc. and conducts inspections, monitor work progress and completions. Responsible to utilize technical expertise in providing troubleshooting of problems on a day-to-day basis.

 Coordinates with Depot/ terminal Supervisors and LPG plant on the status of facility, preventive and repair work scheduling, processing of work orders and safety work permits.

Handles administrative issues related to the electrical PM & CM works like preparing and generating Work Orders, SPO’s, SWO’s. Initiate and invoices after completion of maintenance works (in-house or contracted).

Continuous Improvement, reporting and analysis

 Prepares total actual cost of works including manpower, equipment, spare parts, daily work activities, daily over time of craft men, monthly work orders report and submit to Maintenance Planning Section.

 Assists in establishing methods, controls and standards for the actual execution of maintenance work

 Recommends improvements on work methods and keeps up to date with the latest work techniques and standards. Also, in charge of all electrical activities during plant shutdown.

 Evaluates and analyses man hours and costs on individual, maintenance and modifications to ensure optimum utilisation of manpower and material resources in implementation of scheduled maintenance programs.

 Periodically reviews the condition of equipment and systems for their performance in terms of efficiency and reliability and advises Team Leader for planning for replacement / upgradation

Contract Management

 Prepares Scope of work for 3rd party and in-house jobs, inspects work done, prepares completion certificates.

 Controls and monitors 3rd party contractors in the execution of contracts and Price Agreements. Conducts inspections to ensure safety and quality of work is maintained in line with stringent ADNOC Distribution standards. Prepares report on annual Contractors evaluation.

Inventory Management

 Reviews & monitors spare part inventory and recommends additional parts to be stocked and advises on minimum, maximum stock etc.

New Projects

 Support Team leader in New Project" and "Modification" proposals review, pre-commissioning/commissioning activities and conducting HAZOP, HSEIA, HAZID and Risk Assessments etc as and when required.


 Responsible for coordinating with HSE, instructing and training Technicians & ensuring that job is carried out in the safest way with the least risk possible.

 Maintains records of all company assets at Depot/Terminals, LPG Plant in Al Ain and advises on condition of assets for write-off and prepares technical report for any write-off applications.

Generic Accountabilities


 Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.

 Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.


 Provide input for preparation of the Department / Section budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.

 Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

 Implement approved Department / Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s work programs in line with Company and International standards.

 Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

 Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

 Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.

 Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

 Supports/Coordinates/Implements Energy Saving initiatives / projects

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

 Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

 Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.


 Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Minimum requirements


Minimum Qualification

 3 Year Higher Diploma or 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Instruments Engineering

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

 5 years of experience post Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years experience post Diploma in Electrical Maintenance department in Oil and Gas Industry or Petrochemical industry
